GET IN TOUCH

Due to the high quality of our car details, we have become widely known as experts in the Cleveland car community. There are several questions that we are commonly asked by our detailing customers in regards to automotive cleaning and maintenance. To help our customers better care for their vehicles in-between details, we wanted to share some of these questions.

How often should I have my car detailed?

It depends on how perfect you want the vehicle.  If you want your vehicle to look great all the time, it would be best to have it detailed every 6 months (spring and fall).  This will help to make sure that the vehicle is protected both from salt in the winter and the UV rays in the summer.

How do you recommend to clean the exterior of our vehicle, in-between professional details?

Wash the vehicle in the shade at least once every two weeks. Start by rinsing each tire thoroughly after washing. Be sure your wheel cleaner is chemically balanced, otherwise, it could cause etching on your wheels. Wash the exterior with a Wash Mitt or Wash Square so as to not to scratch the paint. Begin at the top of the vehicle and move to the bottom of the vehicle while continually rinsing. Use a high quality car soap that is pH balanced so as to not degrade the wax or paint. Remove excess bugs on front of vehicle with a bug cleaner and bug sponge (use nothing abrasive). Once your vehicle has been rinsed thoroughly, use a synthetic chamois for drying. Start at the top of the vehicle and move to the bottom. A natural chamois has the tendency to scratch the painted surfaces more.

What type of wax do you use on your vehicle details?

We use high-grade Carnauba wax. It is the hardest natural wax known to man and is harvested from the leaves of Brazilian palm trees.  Carnauba wax is popular among the car community due to the warm shine that it produces. This wax not only helps protect your exterior but it will also restore the original luster of your paint.

What is the best way to clean off bird droppings on my vehicle?

Whenever you see bird droppings on your vehicle, you should attend to them as quickly as possible.  Bird droppings are acidic, and like anything acidic, they can damage the clear coat on your vehicle’s painted surfaces.  Spray the affected area with a “quick detail” spray.  Lightly dab the area with a clean micro-fiber cloth.  If you scrub the area or use a cloth that is slightly abrasive, you can do damage to the clear coat on the surface.

What is the difference between your vehicle detail and one of your competitor’s details?

We spend 7-10 hours on every full detail that enters our facility.  We clean and protect every surface of the vehicle, including the leather seats and the engine compartment – if desired.  When you are comparing our services to another detailing company’s services, these are some of the most common areas that are different:

  • We vacuum and shampoo all of the carpets and upholstered seats in the vehicle.  Our shampooing process removes all dirt and contaminants that haven’t permanently stained or burned the carpet fibers.
  • We perform up to 3 stages of buffing on the painted surfaces of every vehicle.  The work we perform on the painted surfaces is as intensive as you can get before wet-sanding or body shop repair work is performed.  Any light scratches or swirl marks that aren’t through the clear coat will be removed during this process.
